Course Description:
Architectural design concepts, application of Auto Cad, study models, sketching, and
group critiqued presentations of design will be introduced. Application of AEC 118,
110C, and 120 are incorporated. A structural model of a three-bedroom residence will be
constructed.
Course Objectives: Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

Identify and discuss design principles.
Identify wind direction, view, sunrise sunset, and other factors that
influence building design for a particular property.
Evaluate site for excavation, access and construction.
Develop professional quality preliminary plans and elevations.
Demonstrate creativity and good construction craftsmanship in the
construction of the model.
Verbally and creatively present your design to the class for critique.
Effectively participate in critiques.
Critically evaluate his/her design.
Meet production deadlines.
