Week 6: Creative Writing – Writing the Tale
After reading What If Part 4 (73-87), and Part 6 (111-131), and stories in Grimm, do the
following creative writing.
Review Exercise 39, “The Skeleton” (114-115), and Exercise 41, “Peter Rabbit and
Adam and Eve (118-119). Choose one of these exercises to develop into a story of 500750 words. If you prefer to work short, try both. Note that although this type of “tale”
derives from folk and fairy tales, the setting can be as contemporary as you choose – the
examples on 114 and 119 both use modern settings.
Hand in by Monday, Feb. 13.
Submit your story (or 1 of your 2) to your writing group by Monday, Feb 13.
