Homework thingy about claims, ground and warrant
Claim: The focus of the literature will no longer be about Puritan ideals of a human being but more
about the individual human.
Ground: ’’we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are
endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and
the pursuit of Happiness’’
Warrant: Here you can see that the human no longer is under the ideal from the puritans about
predestination, the human is now free to pursue his dreams and be happy. The literature could
therefoe be more focused on self-realization than the ideal god has bestowed.
