Princeton APSA Chapter Officer Application Thank you for your interest in the Princeton Chapter of the American Physician Scientists Association (APSA)! APSA is the largest organization specifically dedicated to physician scientists in training, and has over a thousand members. We seek to become a hub for all Princeton students interested in becoming physician scientists or pursuing MD/PhDs, with the goal of improving opportunities for mentorship, community building, and support. While all members will be able to access APSA events and opportunities, as an officer, you will directly impact our future direction and have the ability to decide our programming. Available Positions Co-President: The co-president is charged with the overall operation of the Princeton chapter. He or she must ensure the continuance of programs that benefit the student body, and must communicate frequently with the members and the national APSA organization. The co-president will maintain the power to appoint all committee chairs, shall present all motions to the body present, and shall be present at 90% of chapter meetings. Vice President: The vice president is charged with ensuring the smooth election and transition of the officers after election, helping to provide continuity to the chapter. He or she is charged with maintaining a current email list of chapter membership, and serves as the acting president when the president deems necessary. Only current freshmen and sophomores may apply for this position. Secretary: The secretary will take minutes for all chapter meetings, including a timeline of activities and programs and any notes or suggestions submitted by the officers or chapter members in attendance. The secretary will also oversee the committees in charge of organizing individual events. He or she will maintain contact with the committee chair to ensure that adequate progress is being made such that the event will be ready by its planned date. Treasurer: The treasurer will record and maintain the records of expenditures for the Princeton chapter, including submission of forms necessary to request funds from both the APSA national organization and Princeton University. Webmaster: The webmaster will be responsible for maintaining the APSA chapter webpage, as well as for using social media to publicize events. Events Committee Chair: The events committee chair will oversee the committees in charge of organizing individual events, and will generate ideas for events.
