Insert Pictures
For ease of placement and manipulation it is best to create a drawing canvas first.
1. Click on Insert Tab – Insert Shapes – New Drawing Canvas
2. Size the canvas to your desired size by stretching the box by the … bars,
3. OR you can right click on the canvas, choose more layout options, go to Size tab and set the size of the
canvas.
4. Insert the pictures on the drawing canvas.
5. Make changes and enhancements desired.
6. Save canvas as a jpg file
Insert Clip Art
1. Click on Insert Tab – Clip Art.
2. Type in a subject to see selection of clip art
3. Select and insert clip art
4. Make changes and enhancements by right clicking and choosing format picture.
5. If selection on computer is not sufficient, click on "Find More at Office.com" to browse the selections
there. Choose the category and to narrow the search, click on the search box and enter more defining
terms for the appropriate art. Choose Copy – Copy to clipboard to insert the picture
6. Makes changes and enhancements by right clicking and choosing format picture.
Insert Captions – Text Boxes
1. Plain Text Box:
a. Click on Insert Tab – Text Box – Draw Text box
b. Place cursor where you want the text box and draw the rectangle for the text box.
c. Type in the text you want.
d. Highlight the text and as you hover over the selection the font quick format menu will appear,
choose font changes such a color, size, font name. NOTE: As you hover over a change, a
preview will appear on the text you highlighted.
e. You may enhance the text box by changing fill, border, etc. from the Drawing Tools tab that
appears when you are inside the text box.
2. Fancy Text Box:
a. Click on Insert Tab – Shapes and choose the shape text box you want.
b. Type in your text.
c. Right click on shape and choose Format Shape to manipulate the shape as you wish.
d. In the Text Box area of this dialog box you can change text direction.
