1-6 Worrell The request in 1-5 has been modified to require that the town produce NO waste. This requires (by definition) that every material that comes into our town be recyclable. It may be conceivable that EVERY sort of waste could be recycled somewhere – the question becomes how to separate it and how to get the separated material to the proper recycling area. Both of these may be entirely impractical. By way of example – consider a simply electric device – with multiple metals and sorts of plastic intimately interwoven. It may not be possible to separate them – especially at an affordable cost. Further imagine that we have separated them – it may be the process to recycle actually produces more waste and uses more energy than is saved in the recycling project.
