TC women down Angelina
CARTHAGE – The Temple Daily Telegram reports that theTemple College women’s
basketball team made it a sweep at the Panola Classic, beating Angelina College 63-50
on Saturday. Coming off a 69-58 win over host Panola on Friday, the Lady Leopards
found themselves trailing Angelina 29-22 at halftime Saturday. After the break, TC
clamped down on defense and pulled past Angelina midway through the half for the win.
“We came out in the second half and played as a team and our defense was incredible,”
TC coach Kim Sebek said. “We had a good solid game of defense.” The Lady Leopard
(7-5) attack was paced by the trio of Kaci Fulton, Kelly Brown and Rhonda Green.
Fulton scored 17 points, Brown had 12 and Green added 11. TC also took advantage at
the free-throw lane, sinking 20 of 23 at the charity stripe. The Lady Leopards’ next game
is at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Waco when they open Northern Texas Junior College Athletic
Conference play against McLennan Community College.
