TC Softball - All Stars
Five Temple College softball players, including All American pitcher Rachel Reese, will compete today
and Saturday in the Texas Softball Coaches Association All-Star Games at McLennan Community College
in Waco. The Temple Daily Telegram reports that Reese, center fielder Merilee Parker, catcher Monica
Dohnalik, first baseman Leigh-Ann Muslow, and shortstop Jaime Holly all are part of the team of top
sophomores from the NJCAA's Region V that will battle Region XIV's sophomore all-stars in four games.
TC coach Head coach Larry Hennig led the Leopards to a 43-13 record last season and the Northern Texas
Junior College Athletic Conference championship. The Telegram reports that Hennig said the event will
give the players a prime opportunity to show off their skills for recruiters from four-year schools. "This
will be the culmination of the fall season for everybody, and hopefully the girls will get seen by a lot of
coaches," said Hennig, who will coach the Region V squad against the Region XIV team, which features
players from JUCO's in east, southeast, and south Texas.
