Parent Information
Parents,
Last week, we continued our focus on biographies. We worked on our MLK biography
report. Students practiced looking up information, writing a report, and worked on maps,
Venn Diagrams, and word bubbles. This week, we will continue our focus on biographies by
reading information on our presidents. We will wrap up our MLK report and finish the
timeline. We continue to focus on fractions, in math. Students have been working on
finding fractions on a number line. Please continue to work on multiplication facts,
especially if you child is still working on lists 1-6. Students should be on the last few facts at
this point, if not working on mixed lists. This will help with division and reducing fractions.
Spelling: There are no spelling words this week, since I was unable to post spelling words.
Vocabulary: We have vocabulary words this week. Please look for the word list and have
students study.
Ready A-Z Ready Test: Please remember to have students take at least one test per week.
This is great practice for the end of the year test. I have noticed a drop in students’ test
taking. Please note that I check their status every week.
Look Ahead:
March 2nd: Dr. Seuss Day
March 4th: Dr. Seuss Carnival at 5:00
March 21st-April 3rd: Spring Break
Have a great week,
Mrs. Hewitson
