Revise the tax code to one line, "For every dollar of income that you receive you will pay X% in federal income taxes". I am confident that some great prestigious university minds can compute the true, actual tax rate that would be needed. We should eliminate stepped rates, exemptions, complex tax laws filled with loop holes and non-payment options. It should not matter if the income is wages, investment, interest or any other form. And, it should not matter if it is your only dollar of income for the year, or your 100 millionth. We can greatly reduce the size of the IRS, and subsequent federal expense reduction. We can force countless attorneys and accountants to seek an outlet of their efforts that actually help the U.S., and helps our economy. Clearly, the overwhelming majority of honest tax payers with no lobbyist voice in Washington would be in favor of this revised tax law, while the few groups who represent the minority and fund extensive lobbyists will strong arm the house and senate to kill even thinking of such a change - let alone actually start an earnest debate.
