BI Accelarator (BIA)
• Redundant data store of a BI InfoCube on the BI accelerator
server.
• To improve the performance of BI queries when data is read
from an InfoCube
• Data of a BI InfoCube is made available as a BI accelerator
index in a compressed but not aggregated form.
• Consists of several, possibly split indexes that correspond to
the tables of the enhanced star schema and a “logical” index
which, depending on the definition of the star schema,
contains the metadata of the BI accelerator index.
• Instead of large number of aggregates for one particular
InfoCube, you can use the BI accelerator to avoid this high
maintenance effort.
