About the ATC
 We are a professional building and have
rules/regulations to support the professionalism.
 In example, even though campuses are different
we do not allow hats (unless part of a uniform),
facial piercing, or especially frayed or torn jeans.
 If you forget or violate these rules you will be
provided attractive “scrubs” to wear….
 It is a privilege to attend the ATC!!!
What is this class all about?
 We are going to learn design soft wares.
 First Adobe Photoshop – a personal friend of
mine!

A complete list of rules and guidelines will be included in the syllabus and available on the website.
Sign-in Sheets
 A sign in sheet will be on the corner of the workstation
when you arrive.
 Sign in with your own signature
 NEVER sign in for anyone else or have anyone sign in
for you – there are reasons why!
 If there are errors in your information let me know.
(spelling of name, id #, campus etc.)
Assignment Notebook
 When you have assignments to turn in you will place
them in the class assignment notebook.
 Each student has a pocket folder in which to place
your assignments.
 This is also a great place to keep information or
instructions.
Portfolio Notebook
 Each student will be given a notebook with sheet
protectors to begin a collection of work
 This is your print portfolio
 Any project you turn in for me you also print to put in
portfolio
 Certifications and resumes will go in this notebook
 This will also house things like the daily warm up
 Notebooks will be at computer stations and do not go
home without express permission
Driving
 Must have parking pass
 Even at stadium
 Cannot carpool between schools
 Must keep insurance and registration current
 Will get fines – possibly towed!
 Don’t park in another’s space.
 If someone is in yours, come to front desk
 Don’t park in customer parking spaces.
 Don’t park in back – especially by Gonzalez!
Fire Drills
 We will have frequent Fire Drills (1 a month!)
 We will go down the stairs and out the back door – in
a quick and efficient manner
 We will go to the far side of the parking lot
 We will STAY TOGETHER as a class
 All our belongings will be locked in the class
Emergency Action Plans
We have several difference types of
drills
 Safe shelter – proceed to conference room
 Shelter in Place – in our own photo room
 Intruder – Cover windows & go into photo room
There may be others. It is good to have a plan and as
with fire drills – the doors will be locked and your personal
belongings secured.
Emergency Action Plans, cont’d
The doors to our classroom are
routinely locked. When you go to the
restroom or leave the room for any
reason you will have to knock to get
back in. This is intentional, mostly for
security reasons, but just in general
to have an opportunity to screen
people before they come in the
room.
Restroom/Hall Pass
 If you need to go to the restroom you will sign out at
the table/shelf by my desk.
 You need to fill out the time you leave – take the
appropriate hall pass (paddle) and then sign back in.
 You don’t actually have to ask to go to the restroom
unless we are in the middle of lecture.
 DO NOT FORGET TO LEAVE THE PADDLE on the shelf!
About done…..!
 Whew! This is a lot of information, but it is all necessary.
Stuff I need

I need a folder with contact information for each of you with the
following info:
 Last name, First name on tab
 Inside folder I need:
 Your name
 Your complete address (with city/zip!)
 Your cell number (I will explain why…)
 Your parents name/s
 Phone numbers for your parents
 A smiley and frowny face beside who you want me to call for
good and bad news
 Any medical concerns I should know about or that a nurse
monitors

And….
About the Classroom
 As juniors and seniors I expect you to be and act like
ADULTS, therefore I plan to treat you as adults – unless
you prove me otherwise!
 So the last item I need is your definition of the word
RESPECT. Not just treat others as you want to be
treated but a well thought out definition.
Respect – Definition
 Respect is how you show honor to each other and to
your surroundings, it involves your opinions, attitudes,
statements, behaviors and even unspoken actions.
Respect - Definition
For me Respect has four directions:
Me to you – You got that!
You to me – I will earn that!
You to each other – Not an option!
You to the equipment – Got to have
it!
Thank you
And Thanks for taking my class!
I really am happy you are here!
Let’s make it a great year!
