Math: Addition and Subtraction Strategies will be the focus this week. Reading/Writing: Students should bring home their guided reading baggie and sight word baggie each night for practice and they need to bring them back to school each day. We will continue focusing on nonfiction or expository books and writing about our research. IB/Social Studies/Science: We will be learning about animals for the remainder of the school year. This week, students will be researching an animal with a partner. 1. Please plan on signing up this Thursday for the Appletree Project in the computer lab from 3:00 – 6:30. If your child qualifies for free or reduced lunches, then you are eligible for backto-school assistance! Please see the flyer that I sent home last week. If you can’t come on Thursday, you can apply online anytime at www.ifmdenton.org/appletree 2. The Cinco de Mayo program will also be this Thursday. There will be performances at 1:15 and at 6:00. 3. Anytime you can, riding in the car, during commercials, etc., please ask you child to count to 120 by 10s or by 5s. If they master that, try 2s. 4.
