What are Adjective Clauses?
They are dependent clauses.
Describes a noun or pronoun
Answer the question “which one” or “what type”
How do Adjective Clauses start?
They start with a Relative Pronoun:
Who
Whom
Whose
Which
That
Examples
1. Pizza, which most people love, is not very healthy.
2. The kids who were called first will have the best chance of getting a seat.
3. The people whose names are on the list will go to camp.
4. Fruit that is grown organically is expensive.
Activity Directions
Everyone gets 1 index card.
On each card, you must write 1 well-known noun
ex: a celebrity, a place you would like to visit, school subject, a teacher, etc...)
Then write 3 clue words that a person cannot say when giving hints.
I will collect your cards
Example Card
On the card write:
1)Noun: Tony Romo
2)Words you cannot say:
Quarterback
Dallas
Cowboys
Example clues to give during the game:
A person that plays football.
Activity: Taboo
Taboo Rules:
Each table is a team.
1 team goes at a time.
One person on the team will give clues to the other team members to help
them guess the noun written on the card.
There are 3 clue words on the card that cannot be said as a hint.
Each clue given must be presented in the form of an adjective clause.
