MEDIEVAL AQUASCAPING
Pretend you are living in the middle ages and are the aquaculture specialist to the King of a very
large castle. He has a moat, but doesn't know what to do with it and has asked for your advise.
Your job is to advise him in what he could do to make it a productive part of his kingdom.
Things to Consider:
• What is the water like (warm, cold, salty)?
• What kinds of fish will grow in the water type?
• What purpose does the moat serve?
• Do any plants grow in the water for the fish to eat?
• Is there any pollution of the water that may harm the fish?
This assignment requires that you use your knowledge of aquaculture as well as your
imagination. Write a 1-2 page letter to the King describing what your advise is.
