The application should allow trail users who identify a safety concern to take a photo on
their mobile devices and submit the photo to the City of Fort Wayne so the issue can be
remedied.

The City of Fort Wayne is interested in having an application developed to
share with trail users so if they encounter a safety concern, they can take a
photo of the issue and send it to the City of Fort Wayne with a geo-tagged
location. Sometimes it is difficult for trail users to pinpoint the location of the
safety concern and often they just forget to report the concern. This
application should also allow the user to select from a menu of concerns and
the option to include a voice memo about the photo being submitted.
The goal of this project is to create a well-documented mobile application that
will allow trail users to easily share concerns with the City and it will provide a
GPS logged location of the concern.
The City of Fort Wayne will provide details of the Open311 API that this app will
interact with. The app will use the Open311 APIs to create work requests.
However, the Open311 will not be available until the next system upgrade
scheduled for summer of 2015.

requirements in coming years, and so requires that software is well documented and
distributed under the GNU General Public License version 3.
Other notes

This project is easily scalable to allow the team to take on the correct amount
of work for the senior design project. The project is scalable because it can be
broken down into the following modules that can be easily added or removed:
 Select photo for upload
 Select reason for concern or allow voice memo to attach with photo
 Option to share user name/email for follow up
 Upload photo to server
general, one semester has 15 weeks. For a 3 cr. hrs. course, a student is expected to work min of 8 hrs. per week for the project
which is equivalent to min of 120 hours.
