Course Guidelines
The district curriculum is aligned to the Arizona State Standards for Writing and

assumed for many course objectives. Components of English are interrelated and
intended to be interactive whenever possible. Multiple assessment methods will be used
to evaluate understanding and application of course objectives. Objectives for this course
will be taught to grade level mastery to ensure appropriate articulated learning between

literary elements of short stories, poetry, plays, and the novel.
