Welcome to third grade at Lowell Elementary in room 21! My name is Ms. Klass and I am very excited to have both you and your child in my class this year. I am looking for a successful and rewarding year for us all. I am native to Arizona. This is my first full year as a certified teacher in Mesa Public Schools. I possess a B.A. in elementary education from Arizona State University. I believe that all children can learn and learn in different ways. All children need to feel safe and supported within the classroom. Each student will be responsible for a binder and agenda. Assignments are written down daily before the end of the day. Binder/Agenda Expectations: Students will keep their binder clean and organized Students will write down homework assignments daily Students will create weekly goals to put in agendas Parent(s) will sign their child’s agenda every night. (This is to show that every parent knows what homework their child has or what they learned for the day) Homework Within each students binder there will be a folder for homework. Third grade students will receive Math and Reading homework daily. Left side: “Return to school” Reading and math homework will go in this side along with any form that may need to be signed and brought back. Right side: “Keep at Home” These things should be looked over by parents and taken out nightly. Homework Expectations: Homework will be turned in on time. Work must be completed in pencil and neat. Homework must be check and agenda must be signed by an adult. ***STUDENTS WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO COMPLETE THEIR HOMEWORK DURING MORNING RECESS IF IT IS NOT COMPLETED AT HOME.*** MY CHILD AND I HAVE READ THE AGENDA AND HOMEWORK EXPECTATIONS AND UNDERSTAND WHAT IS EXPECTED NIGHTLY.
