CONDUCT:
1. Listen to all instructions and directions carefully and follow
them the first time. If repetition is needed, ask in French.
2. Be respectful at all times. This means no talking, teasing, put
downs, or inappropriate comments. We are all learning together
and mistakes are a fact of life. Encourage and be helpful; do not
belittle. Keep your hands, feet, and objects to yourself. All school
rules apply!
3. Display a positive attitude! Learning another language and
another culture require you to be open to new things. Do your best
to smile and enjoy French!
4. PARTICIPATE! To earn an “A” in participation in this class,
expect to be speaking French both to me and to your classmate.
5. Gum, eating and drinking will not be tolerated. YOU CAN’T SPEAK
FRENCH WITH GUM.
6. You must arrive on time for class EVERYDAY. You are
expected to come with a pass from a teacher or a guidance
counselor anytime you are late. Failure to come without a pass will
result on an unexcused tardy. Three unofficial tardies will result
in a 30-minute teacher detention to be served at MY
CONVENIENCE.
7. All tests and quizzes must be made up after school or during
Resource time in the Lingo Lab ( room 227). You have two days to
make it up for each day you were absent.
8. Dishonesty, including copying, cheating and plagiarism, will
result in a zero and an office referral for academic dishonesty.
** THE USE OF TRANSLATION PROGRAMS IS CONSIDERED
CHEATING! NO CREDIT WILL BE GIVEN FOR QUESTIONABLE
WORK! If IN DOUBT, ASK!**
HOMEWORK:
1. You are expected to check the board or the website for your
homework assignments. Assignments will be checked and recorded
at the start of the next class session, unless otherwise notified.
Late homework is not accepted, except in the case of absence
according to school policy.
2. If you were absent, you may check “ Aspen” our online
gradebook available through the school’s website for any work
missed ( due to an excused absence) or my website:
http://www.nhvweb.net/nhhs/worldlanguage/pchukrallah/
3. Cuts: You will not be allowed to make up any quiz or test
administered on a day where you have a cut in French class. You
will be assigned a grade of “0”
4. Substitute assignments: All work assigned on a day of my absence
is due the following day. This work WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
LATE.
5. I DON’T GIVE EXTRA CREDIT!!!!! You will have enough
opportunities to succeed in this class.
CHROMEBOOKS:
You are allowed to take notes on your Chromebook. Only one window should
be opened at a time. If you get caught once playing games or doing anything
BUT taking notes, you won’t be allowed to use your Chromebooks for notes.
GRADING POLICY:
Your French grade will be weighted:
a. IPAs, quizzes, projects, oral presentations, (60 points)
