Morality: 4th Quarter 2nd Assignment: Due Date ____ INTRODUCTION: In his online article entitled “6 Lessons of the Great Recession” 1, Philip Moeller, a writer for U.S. News and World Report®, draws out the lessons that Americans can learn from the recent national economic woes and recession. In his conclusion, Moeller writes, “If a serious recession has any silver lining, it’s the realization it brings that your quality of life is largely up to you.”2 As indicated in SFP’s school documents concerning a profile of our graduates, “our focus at St. Francis is the whole person. Therefore, Prep graduates strive to live the Four Golden Links.” The Franciscan Golden Links focus on the Spiritual, Intellectual, Social, and Physical dimension’s of a person’s “quality of life.” Moeller would surely agree that the four Golden Links are “largely up to you.” So, too, with one’s moral life: one’s moral life is “largely up to you.” INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Select only one format below and address the following questions: What kind of a moral person do you want to be? Which one of the four golden links would you like most to improve in order to improve yourself as you mature? Share at least one personal example or experience which illustrates how you a need to improve that same golden link which will help you become the moral person you want to be. 2. Provide a cover page with your typed name and period. FORMATS: Select only one format: 1. POEM: Of any length which sufficiently achieves the instructions given above. 2. ESSAY: create an essay of one full page (no more & no less), which is double spaced, using Times New Roman 12 point font with standard margins and which sufficiently achieves the instructions given above. Be sure to indent your paragraphs and place no heading on the essay sheet. Grammar and content will affect your grade. 3. SONG: Create an original song, sing it, and place the performance on a DVD which works on the computer in W216 and which sufficiently achieves the instructions given above. Provide the lyrics on a separate last page. 4. FILM: Create an original video. You may work in groups of no more than four (4). Documentary or News genre is not permitted. Place it on a DVD that can access your video in the W-216 computer. Provide a half-page, typed paragraph, double-spaced, explaining how the video achieves the instructions given above.
