I. Los numeros: de 0 a 99:
I will read aloud numbers in Spanish, you write that number down.
For example (these are only examples; these are not going to be on the quiz):
-if I say “cinco”, you write “5”
-if I say “diecisiete”, you write “17”
-if I say “sesenta y dos”, you write “64”
II. ¿Qué es?
I will hold up an object and you write down what it is:
For example:
-if I hold up a piece of chalk, you write “tiza”
-if I hold up a pencil, you write “lapiz”
-if I hold up a backpack, you write “mochila”
III. ¿Cuál es la día y la fecha de hoy?
What is today’s day and date?
For example, if today is Wednesday, January 2, 1998, you will write:
“Hoy es miércoles, el 2 de enero, 1998”
IV. ¿Cuál es la fecha de tu cumpleaños?
What is your birthday?
For example, if your birthday is May 16, 1977, you will write:
“Mi cumpleaños es el 16 de mayo 1977”
V. Las días de la semana – the days of the week
For example:
-If you see “Monday”, you write “lunes”
-If you see “Wednesday”, you write “miércoles”
VI. Los meses del año – the months of the year
For example:
-If you see “March”, you write “marzo”
-If you see “May”, you write “mayo”
Vocabulary to know for quiz:
I. Page 8 – Know all numbers from 0 to 99. On the quiz, I will say the number in Spanish
and you will write it down in number form. When I say “sesenta” you will write “60”
II. La fecha
¿Cuál es la día y la fecha de hoy? What is today’s day and date?
Hoy es jueves, el 16 de abril 2006 = Today is Thursday, April 16, 2006
***Hoy es martes, el primero de marzo 1997 = Today is Tuesday, March 1, 1997
***notice the difference in the date for the first of any month
