Functions: Direct and coordinate the investigation, establish a command post, maintain the security of the
crime scene, interview the first police officer at the scene, conduct a walk through. Create a reconstruction
theory using evidence, profiling, and blood spatter analysis. You will apply for subpoenas, search and
arrest warrants. You will formulate a binder that includes all reports relative to the investigation in
chronological order.

Function: Take crime scene photographs and picture of all subsequent evidence found during the follow-up
investigation. A log will be kept of all photographs taken. You create a powerpoint presentation
reconstructing the crime and investigation in visual form.

Functions: Take all necessary measurements of the crime scene and prepare a rough draft followed by a
finished or “smooth” copy drawn to scale.

Functions: Collect, log, package, and voucher all evidence recovered from the crime scene and subsequent
investigation. Initiate the chain of custody. Prepare a lab report for each individual piece of evidence.

Functions: Receive evidence from the property person and process or develop latent fingerprints in order
to identify subject. Securely re-package and provide to the property person.

Functions: Receive evidence from the property person and conduct the appropriate examinations. Original

Functions: Receive leads from lead investigator and conduct interviews on witnesses and interrogations on
suspects. Be knowledgeable on when to administer Miranda Rights.

Functions: Coordinate with evidence collectors and assist in vouchering evidence. All evidence will be
secured in a locked container overnight. Deliver evidence to the appropriate agency based on the lab
request.
