1. Did John Green succeed in writing a
book that deals with Cancer but isn’t a
“Cancer book”? Explain.
2. What do you think about Augustus’ letter in the last
chapter? Do we like the way the letter finds its way to
Hazel? Explain.
3. Discuss the water imagery in the last two chapters. How
has it changed? What do we make of the water motif now
that we’ve finished the book?
4. What do Hazel’s last words sound like (have you heard
them anywhere else)?
5. Did you have a favorite part? Do you think the book should
have ended differently?
