Complete the following assignment in order to receive extra credit on a test or quiz
grade. For your assigned question, follow the directions to complete the assignment.
Question 1:
Matthew's Gospel depicts Jesus as the New Moses and Luke's Gospel shows Jesus to
be the Universal Savior for all people. For each Gospel ( meaning you are to write two
separate pieces, at least a paragraph each) you are to do the following:
A) Explain the way that each Gospel portrays Jesus. What does Matthew mean when
he says that Jesus is the New Moses? What does Luke mean when he says that Jesus
is the Universal Savior?
B) Use three examples from stories (3 from Matthew and 3 from Luke) that support your
explanation.
C) Explain how the main messages of each Gospel can be helpful for people to hear
about in our society.
