Our students have grown and learned so much this year. It has been a pleasure to watch them thrive here at Salk. As we move into the last quarter of school, students will be working hard to learn as much as possible before the end of May. Grades 3-6 will start the state’s AzMERIT assessment during the last week of March and will continue testing through the end of April. Please be sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and encourage him or her to do their best during this assessment. This is their opportunity to shine and demonstrate all they have learned this year. Grades K-2 will complete the district CRT assessments in April. This will be their time to show what they have learned during the year. Both assessments will inform students, parents and teachers of what students have learned this year and will help us as we look forward to next year. I hope you take the opportunity next week to spend time with family. Spending time talking, playing and relaxing with your children means so much to them. Be sure to encourage your child to read and go outside to get some fresh air and play! With warm regards, Vicki Hester ******************************************************************** Bench the Bag Recycling Challenge Students in grades K-3 are competing with other MPS Elementary schools to collect the most plastic grocery bags, dry cleaning bags, bread bags, dept. store bags, & shrink wrap.
