Week of March 7-11
National School Breakfast Week
I want to take a moment to tell you about some new things happening
at Salk as we enter the last nine weeks of this school year. On
Monday, March 7 we begin breakfast in the classroom. Please read
all about this exciting new program in today’s Scorpion Scoop!
Monday, March 7
Breakfast in the Classroom Begins
Tutoring 2:30-4:30
Choir Practice 2:15-3:15
Because this will now free up some space in the multi-purpose room
in the morning, we are SOARing into our new Homework Club.
Students who do not complete their homework will be assigned
Homework Club the following morning to finish their work. This
means when they arrive at school in the morning, they will report
directly to the MPR until 7:45 when class begins for the day.
Tuesday, March 8
Track and Field 3rd & 4th grades
Tutoring 2:30-4:30
We have a lot of learning left to do this year. Make sure you are
going to bed early and coming to school prepared to learn so together
we can finish this school year strong!

A huge Thank you to the Maricopa County Office of Oral Health for
bringing the Arizona School-based Sealant Program to Salk this year.
As a result, 85 students in grades 2-6 were able to have sealants
applied to their teeth. Dental sealants typically cost $50-$100 per
tooth, which is a savings of up to $8,500 for Salk families. Prevention
is the key to good health!
