Rewards:

Procedures For:
1. Bellwork- Everyday students will be expected to be prepared when they walk into class and
immediately start their bell work. Bell work will be a short assignment, 2-5 questions, which will
review certain material from previous lessons. After ten days worth of bell work, students will
turn in their work and it will be worth a homework assignment.
2. Tardy- You are considered tardy if you are not IN the classroom prior to the bell ringing. Your
first tardy will be a warning. The second tardy will be parental contact along with the
attendance secretary notification. The third tardy will be a 30 min detention after school the
next school day. After the third, detention will extend to hours until in school suspension for
the 8th one. Refer to student handbook.
3. Silence-Silence is expected when I am in front of the classroom and when I am talking. No
verbal or nonverbal interruptions should occur while I am teaching. Raise your hand to ask a
question and wait for permission to speak. Be polite and respectful to everyone at all times.
4. Asking for Help- When you begin your assignment, raise your hand when you have a question
and I will assist you. If I am working with another student, be patient and wait. Do not yell my
name since that is disruptive to other students.
5. Paper Heading- Your heading should be located in the upper right corner of your paper and
should include the following:
a. First and Last Name
b. Course Name
c. Assignment with Chapter and section
d. Due Date
*Please make sure I can read your handwriting.
6. Turning in Papers- Normally I will collect assignments after Q & A time. If you have late work or
make-up work, then you need to turn that in separately.
7. Absent- It is your responsibility to get the assignment from the Chapter Homework Folders in
class. Students will have the same number of days to make up work as the number of days
absent. Please remember to turn in your assignment that was due on the day of your absence
upon your return. If you missed one day before the test, this does not excuse you from taking
the test since you will have more than a days notice of tests. If you missed a quiz or test, YOU
must make arrangements with me to make it up!
8. Restroom- You will not be allowed to use the restroom until after notes so be prepared! You
must have your agenda filled out except the time, which I will fill in and then sign. When you
get back, I will fill in the time you returned. Only one person at a time is allowed out of the
classroom so be patient.
9. Fire/Tornado Drill- Please remain calm. Follow the directions as posted by the classroom door.
10. Dismissal of Class- Normally I will let you know when there is one to two minutes left of class so
you can gather your things. You will not be dismissed by the bell. I will dismiss you once your
surrounding area is clean and all students are seated.
I understand the Rules, Procedures, Consequences, and Rewards for Mrs. Carver’s class.
