What is Science Olympiad?
Science Olympiad tournaments are for 6-12th grade students who compete at regional and state levels
throughout the country. Events encompass biology, earth science, chemistry, physics, computers, and
technology; including Bridge Building, Disease Detective, Remote Sensing, Fossils, Solar System, and
Physical Science Lab—to name just a few. Ultimately, winning students advance to the national level of
competition. Eastern Washington University has been a host of these outstanding competitions since 1992.
We are proud to be the Washington State tournament site for 2016. Competition will take place on the
Eastern campus on Saturday, April 16th, 2016.
Why Volunteer?
We have approximately 200 jobs for volunteers that cover nearly fifty events. Our volunteers are key to
running a successful competition. The reward for volunteering is the enriching experience of working with
bright students involved with science … as well as receiving a great shirt. Many of our volunteers return
every tournament.
How to Volunteer
