Communications Assistant Application Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2015 Position Description: The Communications Assistant will support staff with communications efforts including a monthly newsletter, regular website updates and maintaining multiple social media pages. The Communications Assistant will have a set schedule, but will be expected to attend a weekly staff meeting and events outside of normal business hours. Hours and Compensation: Approximately 5 hours a week at $9-10 per hour Preferred Qualifications: o Open to students of any major, but preference will be given to communications majors o Preference will also be given to students who have a history of involvement with the Environmental Center o Satisfactory academic standing o Demonstrated experience with Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and blogging o Flexible schedule o Strong verbal and written communication skills (writing sample maybe requested) o Ability to work independently and as part of a team o Organized and detail oriented o Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) o Experience with website design and/or graphic design o Availability on Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to table at Market Days Application Instructions: Complete the attached application.
