Volunteer Coordinator Application

Position Description: The Volunteer Coordinator will be primarily responsible for
organizing volunteer events and recruiting student volunteers. The Volunteer
Coordinator will assist professional staff organizing large events, such as Garbage on the
Green, but will be expected to organize smaller events independently. The Volunteer
Coordinator will be responsible for managing multiple student volunteers during events
and maintain a safe and inclusive environment. The Volunteer Coordinator will
maintain a volunteer website and send out regular communications to students.
Hours and Compensation: Approximately 5 hours a week at $9-10 per hour
Preferred Qualifications:
o Open to students of any major, but preference will be given to students who
have a history of involvement with the Environmental Center
o Satisfactory academic standing
o Strong verbal and written communication skills
o Demonstrated leadership experience
o Flexible schedule
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team
o Organized and detail oriented
o Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
o Experience with website design and/or graphic design
o Availability on Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to table at Market Days
