Approval of Agenda A) 11/22/2013 Motion from Sen. Caudio to approve the agenda. Second. No objections. Moved. V. Chairman Report and Remarks We have an emergency B&A meeting on December 6th at 1:00pm. Right now, we’re going to be looking at 4 travel requests, possibly 5, and 1 special request from executive. I’m going to pass around this sheet with everyone’s name on this side and write your major, we’re going to be doing this in senate as well, so I can better assign sponsors according to that role. Our dates for our budget hearings and deliberations: on January 10th we’ll be having an info session, in which we’ll pretty much outline the budget process. The 17th and 24th, starting at 9:00am, that will be the budget hearings in which each individual entity comes up and gives a presentation. They will each have 15 minutes. On the 31st, starting at 9:00am, is the deliberation. This meeting is just called so we meet on our procedural requirements. Sen. Caudio – What time is our B&A meeting going to begin? Sen. Waychoff – On Dec. 6th? 1:00pm Sen. Caudio – Won’t we most likely be having a senate meeting as well? Sen. Waychoff – The senate meeting is going to be after our committee meeting, because we have special requests that will be going in to senate right after that. Sen. Caudio – wouldn’t it make more sense to have the B&A meeting a little earlier then, so senate doesn’t have to start late because of us? Sen. Waychoff – Well, we were first called. But I have class from 12:00-12:15. Sen. – I really need to know: are the fall senators still senators? Do we still need to go to these meetings? What are our requirements? Sen. Waychoff – Yes. You are all still senators until the first; there’s going to be 2 meetings on that Friday. For 2 senate meetings following our B&A meeting immediately following on December 6th. The first meeting they will be approving the elections validations; we’ll be validating the elction. That following meeting we’ll actually do business: we’ll be swearing in the new senators as well as approving the special request. Sen. Caudio – So those 2 meetings, will they be the last senate meetings of the semester? Sen. Waychoff – Yes. And that will be our last B&A meeting as well. VI. Treasurer’s Report – Joseph Turner I have no transfers to report for you all. At the next meeting I will do a semester summary wrap-up to see what’s kind of moved with the money. There are 2 executive special requests coming up at the next meeting at next senate that we’ve been working on, but I’ll tell you more about those when we present them. That is all I have to report. VII. Business Manager’s Report – Angela Rivera Budget hearings are coming up so if you guys have questions, concerns, or anything beforehand feel free to contact one of us about the process.
