FINANCIAL AID AUTHORIZATION
Federal financial aid cannot pay
miscellaneous
charges
(such
as
orientation and late fees) unless you
authorize it to do so. If you have charges
and do not authorize the aid, you must
pay the fees yourself. Your account will
be placed on hold until they are paid.
Your refund will also be delayed. Follow
these steps to complete the authorization:
1. Log into myWings, student tab
2. Select “Student Self Service”
3. Select “Online Forms”
4. Select “Financial Aid Authorization”
and follow prompt
Yes, it’s that time again – Refunds are
here! Financial Aid can begin releasing
onto student accounts during the 3rd
week of the semester. That is the same
week that some of you will receive your
refund (May 28th). In order to receive
your refund fast you will need a direct
deposit account. To set up your direct
deposit, log onto myWings and go to the
Student Tab. Choose “View and Pay my
Bill”, and then select the eRefunds tab.
You will be prompted to enroll in direct
deposit using your banks routing and
account number for either a checking or
savings account.
Once you are all set up and a refund is
ready for you, we will send you an email
to let you know that we are sending the
refund amount to your direct deposit
account.
OZZIE’$ TIP OF THE MONTH
It’s tempting to take your financial aid
refund and go shopping, but ask
yourself a few questions first.
1. Do I really need this ______ (shirt, car,
jacket, move, etc.)
2. Am I willing to pay interest on this item
just so I can have it now?
If you take out student loans and then
receive a refund, you are being given
money that sooner or later you will be
paying interest on. The best thing you
can do with your refund, after
purchasing the items that you strictly
need for school, is to return it to the
lender. This way you will have a lower
amount to pay at graduation and you
will be paying significantly less interest
over the course of your repayment.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY –
JUNE 16TH
We all know that Dads are special and
on Father’s day it is our job to let them
know how much they mean to us!
Here are some inexpensive and creative
ways to show Dad you care!
 Take him on a field trip. We all
remember how much fun school
field trips were, especially when
your parents got to come. This
Father’s Day, take Dad to the Zoo
or a Museum and then picnic in
the park. He will appreciate
spending time with you!
 Wash his car, truck, boat, etc.
Show him some love by cleaning
up his vehicle and let him enjoy a
shiny new ride for a few weeks.
 Surprise him with a lunch date!
Visit your Dad at work or bring him
lunch at home. Use the power of
surprise to let him know you are
always thinking about him.
