Start with the basics. Organise a weekly cooking session with
someone at home, perhaps on a Sunday afternoon? You could work
through a book like 'The Essential Student Cookbook: 400 Foolproof
Recipes to Leave Home with', this is available from Amazon.
Or learn to cook using online recipes. The Poor Students Cookbook
