GENERAL INFORMATION
Hosted by Bits ‘N Reins 4-H Club of Ogle County. May come in the day before,
camping available, no hookups. NO STALLS If coming in the day before you
"MUST" contact Linda Gengenbach at (815) 244-7987.
All exhibitors must be 4-H members in good standing in a 4-H Horse & Pony project
for 2013 - 2014. Ownership of horses must comply with exhibitor’s home county
policy. Exhibitors must show proof of ownership or proper lease agreements according
to home county policy. Negative coggins test required. Papers need to be with you on
the grounds. Exhibitors may show more than one horse per class.
Exhibitors must be in proper attire. A horse or pony may be shown English and
Western, but must have proper equipment. Hardhats and boots required for jumping.
Western attire and helmets are required for speed events. Safety helmets are
required in all riding classes and must be worn at all times when on horseback.
Helmets/Hardhats must be SEI certified.
Three-minute tack changes permitted. Must let office know prior to the class the need
for a tack change. A pony is 56 inches and under for all classes. 4-H rules and
regulations will apply. Ages must be determined as of September 1, 2013.
A Novice is a horse/pony and exhibitor combination that has never won a first place
blue ribbon at an Open or 4-H show. Novice shows only in Novice classes. Novice is a
beginner, including challenged 4-H’ers in the horse/pony project, and may not enter
canter performance classes, but can show in Halter, Trail, Egg & Spoon, Musical
Sacks and speed. In speed classes, must trot the pattern.
Horse/Rider combination must show in either the horse or pony division. Cannot
show in both.
Trail Classes will start at 12:00 and run to the end of the show. It will be run outside
of the show arena.
Blue, Red and White rating ribbons will be awarded. Horse Show Committee will
combine or divide classes as deemed necessary. Entries will be closed when preceding
class is called.
Committee Members or Carroll County Fair will not be held responsible for theft or
accident.
Payback Show - Payback to 4th place. Payback 60% Exhibitor - 40% Show. We will
“do our best” to have payback money available four classes after being notified of
your last class. If not picked up day of show, it will be forfeited. There will be a
“County” high point traveling trophy.
Each participant must complete “Agreement to Assume Risk and Release From
Liability” Form.
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE PROHIBITED
There will be a lunch stand on grounds.

Pre-Entry Fee: $3.00 per class – Postmarked by May 16, 2014
Day of Show $5.00 per class
Required Exhibitor Insurance Fee:
1.00 per exhibitor
NO REFUNDS will be issued on entry fee or insurance fee
