Residence Abroad
Students taking one or two modern languages other than English must spend not
less than two months in the country of each language in order to fulfil the
requirements of their course; students of Irish must spend at least the same length of
time in the Gaeltacht. The residence required for each language must be completed
before the moderatorship examination in their language. This requirement can be
waived only in exceptional circumstances and with the prior approval of the schools
or departments concerned.
Students are asked to complete this form and return it to the Department of
French, Room 4109 by 12 noon on Tuesday 19 March 2013.
Students who have experienced difficulty fulfilling this requirement, or students who
have fulfilled this requirement but cannot provide evidence should contact Professor
Johnnie Gratton, Head of Department of French.
