Using Safety Planning to Assess and Manage Adults at-risk for Suicide Friday, November 18, 2016, 9-12 pm 3 CEH’s Course Description This workshop is designed to prepare and provide a review of competencies for engaging and responding to adults who may be at risk for suicide. In particular, this session will focus on appropriate intake questions, assessment issues, and a recommended tool for managing risk, with a focus on safety planning in suicide prevention. This session is focused on assisting clinicians to enhance their skills. Presented by Dr. Monica Matthieu Dr. Monica Matthieu is an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work and Chair of the Trauma and Veterans Services Specializations. She is engaged in evidence based practices and research in trauma and suicide with the Department of Veterans Affairs. She serves as Director of the VA’s Patient Safety Center of Inquiry on Suicide Prevention.
