A RESOLUTION TO RECONVENE THE RETIREMENT AND INSURANCE COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, Unireg 2, Revision 7, established the Retirement and Insurance Committee; and
WHEREAS, this committee is to be “the vehicle for the continuous study and development of
economic benefits for the faculty and staff” and its function is to “formulate, propose and review
programs of fringe benefits . . . and to make recommendations concerning the same”; and
WHEREAS, Staff Senate was informed last fall that the Retirement and Insurance Committee
would be reconvened and staff representatives would be sought from Staff Senate; and
WHEREAS, many staff members have expressed an interest in serving on this committee; and
WHEREAS, there is a dire need for University of Wyoming employee input to the State of
Wyoming regarding the current state of retirement and insurance benefits; and
WHEREAS, this University has many employees who have the ability to develop fresh ideas
and possible solutions to the problems this state is experiencing with its health/dental/life
insurance program;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Retirement and Insurance Committee, in
accordance with Unireg 2, be reconvened by April 30, 2003 to research, evaluate and make
recommendations on the current and future benefits programs in order to promote economic
benefits for employees and retirees.
