Abstract
This Research represent book study to texts which emerge pasca burnt of Palace
of Basa Pagaruyung (27/02/07) and earthquake (06/03/07). The text cover natural event
text, polemical and social discourse text of antartokoh, text statement of political figure
and text about my me of the poeples. Teks-teks analysed in cultural construction of
Minangkabau by using theory of semiotic.
From result of analysis obtained by picture that at natural event text which in the
form of Allah article appearance and of Muhammad in cloud, in watermelon cleft, in
bamboo of lemang which is in burning and in baby ear represent Allah sentences in
commemoration of to human being to always always remember to Him. social Discourse
text of mrngingatkan about problem of social which during the time uncared cendrung.
Polemical text of antartokoh show polemic of antartokoh cultural and LSM in looking at
problem of disaster. Text statement of political figure give picture that in face of disaster,
political figure of cendrung throw statement having the character of temporal and do not
mencerdaska. While at my me text of society drawn that society of Minang answer to
disaster with philosophic attitude of culture of Minangkabau rational, empris, religion,
and proactive.
