Title: Human Resources Internship

Scottsdale Insurance Company is offering a fast paced learning opportunity to increase human resource knowledge
and gain experience in the field. This internship position will report directly to the Associate Vice President of
Scottsdale’s Human Resources department. This opportunity will increase the incumbent’s knowledge and
understanding of human resources through challenging and rewarding tasks that contribute directly to Scottsdale
Insurance Company. The incumbent will gain first-hand experience in the Excess and Surplus (E&S) Insurance
industry and how the HR department provides a vital resource for Scottsdale Insurance.
Key Tasks:
Learn Scottsdale Insurance Company’s history and the market it serves
Assisting the Human Resource Business Partners(HRBPs) with succession planning, performance review tracking,
and other strategic topics
Conduct new associate orientation
Assist with screening and sourcing of job applicants
Create and post job openings for Talent Acquisition
Organizing meetings, on-site training and special events, including catering
Centralized filing of all HR documents
Assist with I-9 completion and E-Verify
Place small orders with purchasing card
Report and analyze data for different projects
Conduct job reviews
Participate in monthly human resources meetings
Participate in divisional staff meetings
Research company policy guide
Review and update HR web-links on company intranet site
Execute other projects and provide administrative assistance as needed
Junior or Senior undergraduate or a graduate student majoring in Human Resources, Business Management, or
similar degree
Academic record of a 3.0 GPA or higher
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Attention to detail
Excellent verbal. oral, and written communication skills
Ability to stay composed in a fast paced environment
Passion for learning, willingness to take initiative
Involvement in student activities and/or some work experience
