National BHU Alumni Meet (NBAM) 2009
January 29-30, 2009
The two-day National BHU Alumni Meet 2009 will be inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister of
State for Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, Smt. D. Purandeswari on
29.01.2009 at 11.45 am at Swatantra Bhawan. Shri Giridhar Malaviya, Hon'ble former
Justice, Allahabad High Court will be the guest of honour on this occasion, and Prof.
D.P. Singh, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Banaras Hindu University will preside over the
function. Some of the important facts and features of the Alumni Meet 2009 will be as
follows:
 After establishment of Alumni Cell in 2006, an International Alumni Meet 2007 on
“Education in the 21st Century and Mahamana's Vision” was organized during 6-7
Jan, 2007. This was followed by a local Alumni Meet on March 8, 2008, which
focused on ^^iwokZapy

 The theme of the 3rd Alumni Meet, ‘NBAM 2009’ is “Mahamana’s Vision for a
Self-Reliant India: Current Issues and Future Prospects”.
 It is expected that about one thousand delegates from different parts of the
country alongwith local participants will attend the NBAM 2009.
 Eminent scholars in the fields of agriculture, technology, science, health, social
values, law and order, cultural heritage, etc. will deliver talks. List of Speakers
has been given in Annexure-I.
 Eminent alumni will be honoured with ‘Distinguished Alumnus Award’. The list is
presented in Annexure-II.
 An exhibition will be organized where different faculties of the university will
present salient features of their developmental activities.
