Applied Spatial Analysis for International Economic Development
Prerequisites
None.
Description
This course introduces spatial analysis as a tool for solving business-related problems. Emphasis
is placed on practical applications within the context of a Geographic Information System (GIS),
i.e., the computer hardware and software used for the management, display, and analysis of
spatial data.
Objectives
1. To understand the role of spatial analysis tools in addressing business problems;
2. To become familiar with the basic tools of spatial analysis within a GIS program;
3. To become proficient at creating professional-quality maps according to established
cartographic principles;
4. To gain practical experience with ArcGIS software by ESRI.
Purpose
Specialized course for the international economic development concentration.
