Nature Based Leadership Workshop
Aug 20 all-day
Join us for an inspiring day focused on how you can benefit from the emerging field of nature-based leadership
and put your knowledge to work for others. Leave refreshed and ready to bring the benefits of nature-based
experiences to every facet of your life–at home, in relationships, at play and at work in settings as diverse as
business, health care and organizational development. And join a growing worldwide community of people
committed to reconnecting people with nature for their own health and well-being, and that of Earth itself.
GUIDING VALUES

Human health and well-being are inextricably linked to the health of the planet’s living systems.

Direct experiences in nature nourish health, hope, creativity and compassion.

Nature-based leadership is inherently life-giving. Evidence and common sense indicate that nature itself
can heal, inspire, inform and guide all human activities. Every lesson for living, learning, serving and
leading is either written indelibly in or inspired in nature.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN AND CAN PUT TO WORK

How to apply nature’s lessons to enhance your life, at home, work, and everywhere else.

Strategies for incorporating principles of nature-based leadership in business, education, non-profit and
health sectors.

A sense of community, connection and support.

Opportunities to learn more, from graduate school to life itself.
FIELDS OF STUDY THAT INFORM AND INSPIRE NATURE BASED LEADERSHIP
Systems thinking, ecological leadership, conservation psychology, ecopsychology, biomimicry, biophilia.
FOR: Business owners, managers and supervisors; teachers, school principals, administrators and other
educators; non-profit executives; health care professionals; and anyone interested in leadership development
and positive social change.
CO-FACILITATORS AND PRESENTERS–
Innovators and Nature Based Leaders
Cheryl Charles, Ph.D., is an innovator, author, organizational executive, educator
and widely-sought public speaker. In the fall of 2015, Cheryl was named Research Scholar and founding

Project WILD, both of which remain available and widely used. She has applied concepts of nature-based
leadership throughout her career in support of positive social change, including her work in the last decade to
help build the worldwide movement to reconnect children with nature.
Beverly Winterscheid, Ph.D., is a successful business person who left the corporate
sector to create and serve as Founding Partner of the Center for Nature and Leadership (CNL) with its focus on
nature-based leadership development. The Center specializes in nature-based and traditional leadership

from all sectors. Beverly served as leadership professor at Bard College in the Sustainability MBA program,
