Lesson Activities (Which include opening activity, direct teach, critical writing, and small group talk) Math: students will create towers with cubes and determine which number is bigger (teacher will instruct students to create different towers and give them a number card so that they can see their number for the towers). ELR: students will learn the letter Nn, Kk and identify objects that begin with the letter Nn and Kk. Students will create a Martin Luther King booklet. Essential Questions for Rigor and Relevance What are numbers? How can we compare numbers and determine which one is bigger? Why are letters important? What sounds does the letter Nn, Kk? Can we all be detectives? Can you name things that start with the letter Nn,Kk? What kind of lines do the letters Nn and Kk? Why is it important to know letters? Does anyone start with the letter N and K in our classroom? Closing Activity (Formative/Summative Assessment) anecdotal notes I will...review letter/sound Nn amd Kk. We will count 1-9. We will discuss what it means to compare. Differentiation: read directions aloud, restate and clarify directions, have students repeat directions back to teacher work in small group/one-to-one with teacher extended time on tasks provide work samples as model use timer to cue students time to wrap up, so we can change centers Plans for Tuesday, January 20, 2015 By: Julie Eguia Prekindergarten Lesson Plan for the week of January 19-23, 2015 We will use the same guidelines throughout the week.
