Topic: Collegiate Readership Program
WHEREAS: The Collegiate Readership program provides all PSU students with access to the USA
Today, the Joplin Globe, and the Morning Sun; AND
WHEREAS: The USA Today Collegiate Readership program now offers a mobile application that would
be available to all students of Pittsburg State University; AND
WHEREAS: Pittsburg State University’s readership could benefit from modernizing the access we as
students have , by incorporating digital news; AND
WHEREAS: Providing access to said application on campus, would increase their usage in the classroom,
furthering the purpose of the Collegiate Readership Program,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PITTSBURG STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENT SENATE
HERE ASSEMBLED: That we hereby make the readership program application available in January by
funding the program an additional $1000 per month.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: The Student Government Association of Pittsburg State University and
Gannett Company both have the right to terminate the contract at any time.
