Minutes of Missouri State University Panhellenic
October 14, 2015
The General Council meeting was called to order by President Libby Shannon at 3:30 pm at the Union
Club. The roll was called by Vice President of Administration, Bailey West.

OFFICER REPORTS
I.
President, Libby Shannon (Elizabeth16@live.missouristate.edu )
a. Don't forget! Next week is the Exploratory Presentation! Invite your officers, members and
advisers to attend!
b. Exec applications are out in the OSE! Presidents also received an email copy. All applications
are due Friday, October 23rd!
c. Homecoming Safety Reminders: No alcohol at events (i.e. pomping), no elevated surfaces at
the tailgate, hold each other accountable.
II.
VP of Community Relations, Courtney Bollig (Bollig414@live.missouristate.edu)
a. Chapters who still need to send me Up Til Dawn Teams: Alpha Chi Omega, Xi Omicron Iota, &
Delta Zeta. If you have already and I missed it, please let me know. I will work on registering
teams if you have not already next week. Each team member must raise $100. This is new
information from previous reports so please spread the word.
b. Up Til Dawn Kick Off Event: November 14th.
c. Vote on Homecoming ballot and GO TO THE FOOTBALL GAME.

a. Living Your Ritual Day has been cancelled due to lack of participation from the chapters and a
few unforeseen circumstances. Please apologize to your members who have signed up.
b. The women who are participating in Sister Swap will be getting an email from me sometime in
the next 24 hours.

a. Shirts for Clothes Line Project
b. Monday 10/19 "Drunken" glow volleyball at the Hammons Student Sand Volleyball courts.
Teams of 6 and they can be coed. It will start at 7:30! Teams are due by 4pm 10/19
c. Tuesday 10/20 MockTails at th Delta Zeta House. Starts at 6 and goes till 9.
d. Wednesday 10/21 Russ Szabo giving his talk "Mix Drinks Mix Emotions" in the PSU Theater at

e. Spotlight: Clara Barton
Clara Barton was the founder and first president of the American Red Cross, acquired her broad
skill set of urgent medical care, long term care for invalids, locating and reuniting lost family
members and soldiers, through "on th job training" during some of the bloodiest battles of th Civil
War.

a. Ethics Policy Spotlight: Scholarship: We strive to achieve high academic excellence and strive
to keep the all sorority GPA above all Campus GPA. We will also not partake in any academic
dishonesty.
b. Our Standards Round Table will be held next Wednesday, October 21, 2015 in PSU 312 A at 9
PM. Please remind your Standards Chairman!
c. Panhellenic Standards Star! Know someone that represents the sorority community at MSU
really well? Nominate her to be Panhellenic Standards Star!
Complete a nomination form( Available on the FSL Website) for a sister or a friend, and
submit it to lauren26@live.missouristate.edu by Monday, October 26th at 11:59 PM for
your nomination to be put into the Panhellenic Standards Star drawing for the month of
October! The winner will be announced at General Council on Wednesday, October
28th and she will receive a $15.00 gift-card to Starbucks for being a STAR as well as an
Instagram Spotlight!

AXΩ: Happy Homecoming! Good luck to everyone this week! Next Wednesday we will be holding our
annual Walk In Their Shoes event at 6:30 so be on the lookout for more details soon.
AΔΠ: We are enjoying getting to know our Homecoming pairings and gearing up for initiation next week.

ΔZ: We had our crush dance last Friday! We have mocktails coming up on the 20th. We are really
excited about homecoming!

ΣK: We had a great time with our mom's this past weekend! We have had so much fun with our

Phi Sigma Upsilon: Phi sig is currently in the process of changing our bi-laws to become more
leadership focused. We will also be conducting interviews soon for our potential new members. We want
to thank the chapters for encouraging your new members to apply because we had a large number of
applications!

SGA: Make sure to vote for Homecoming King and Queen, about the Taylor Health and Wellness
renovation fee, and if SGA should increase the number of representatives in senate! The website is
