Pre-reading Activities:
•In groups, ask the students to brainstorm
anything flat.
•Have students lie on a large piece of paper and
trace their bodies so they can see how they
would look like if they themselves were flat.
Post-reading Activity:
•Do a 5W poem

their arm, ear, eyebrow, etc.
• Read a letter from Flat Stanley about him
visiting the students in Hong Kong. Then in
groups, discuss what they would do with him
