As Statistical Officer at University of Health Sciences (August 2007)
I joined the University of Health Sciences with a goal of promoting the research culture by
teaching and training the postgraduates in Biostatistics and Research Methodology. So far
163 lectures have been delivered to M. Phil and M.Sc. disciplines with special emphasis on
sample size calculation, one hundred and eighty seven (187) synopses have been
reviewed, followed by incorporation of biostatistics component in theses of 128
postgraduates. I also proposed to start a 2 years Masters Degree Programme in
Biostatistics which was approved by the Advanced Studies and Research Board.
Twenty two (22) research papers have been published so far under the banner of UHS
including international publications. A part from other duties I support academic and
management departments of UHS in their working.
