Overview of
Junior Achievement
Junior Achievement partners with
businesses and educators to brings the real
world to students, opening their minds to
their potential.
We teach kids how
America Works!
Our Purpose:
To inspire and prepare young people to
succeed in a global economy.
Our Vision:
To provide every student with a
fundamental understanding of the free
enterprise system.
Junior Achievement has successfully partnered with
teachers, schools and businesses to deliver quality
programs for over 85 years using the same simple
business model.
It takes three things to make that model work:
•
The best curriculum available
•
A trained volunteer working with a teacher
•
Funding for that curriculum to support the efforts of
our volunteers and teachers
JA Central Texas Fact Sheet
• Junior Achievement programs teach financial literacy and
economic education to students in Kindergarten through 12th
grade.
• In 2006-07, JA Central Texas reached over 12,000 students
in public and private schools throughout the area.
• Over 500 business employees volunteer in the classroom for
