Old Business
2.1
SFR- Eric Thomas
3:35pm-4:00pm
Eric is asking for $300 from the Student Congress to help fund a Space Exploration Summit in Washington D.C.
Pablo suggests that we approve the request for $300, unanimous approval.
2.2
DSC SFA Report- Pablo Nieves
I wanted to update you all on the SFA conversations that we’ve had. The OCCA did not like the resolution because it was
too specific; they will have a staff person take the resolution to make it broader so they can then approve it. At this point
we have a new resolution that will be drafted.
Jenalyn: Will you guys (the OCCSA) vote on the resolution that is being drafted?
Pablo: We have one more meeting and more than likely yes. If not then it simply will not be approved by OCCSA.
Maricruz: Why is it too specific, did they give you a reason?
Pablo: Well honestly from what I heard they didn’t give us a reason. I’m guessing that they just don’t want the resolution
to be too specific on an individual campus level. They didn’t want to cross the line there (micromanage individual
campuses).

3.1
Special Funds Request
3.1.1 Landscape Club see Special Funds Request Form for more information
4:00pm-4:20pm
Asking for $1,000 to send five students to a one day seminar in Vancouver B.C.
Aaron: How exited are you about this specific seminar?
Richell: This is a really good seminar for students that are interested in perennial plants. Our program has a lot of
perennials and we will have a lot of them during the plant sale.
Maricruz: What advantage does this conference open than another one couldn’t?
Richell: We have attended conferences nearby and the reason why we chose this one is because it is being
hosted by the Perennial Plant Association.
Jordie: A good friend of mine is a landscape designer and the Burchart garden is one of the biggest gardens in
the Northwest and I know that this would be a good opportunity for the Landscape Club.
Pablo: What is the overall cost of the trip?
Richell: We are expecting the cost of the trip to be over $2000. We are asking for half (from the Student
Congress) and I think that students should provide the rest to show that they are committed to this and not
just have a “freebie trip”.
Susan suggests that we approve the Special Funds Request for $1,000, unanimous approval.
3.1.2
JPC Club tabled
3.2
Club Representative- Jordie Gredvig
Jordie comes from Vet Tech Club and she is here to ask the student congress to make her a club representative.
Axkana: Is this to be a voting member?
Jordie: Yes
Pablo suggests that we approve Jordie as a club representative, unanimous approval.
