Kimber: Parenting Club

Pablo suggests that Kimber(ly) is approved as a club representative. Unanimous approval.

*Huitzi: Just a reminder that Kimber will be representing all clubs as a club representative, not just parenting club.

3.4 CSP Proposals

3.4.1 Vet Tech. Club

Cheryl: We have one person that has been helping out every Saturday at the Audubon Society of Portland since the beginning of this term.

*There are the following options:

Vet Tech Club would like to know if they can have the hours that she has volunteered since the beginning of the term approved as part of their service project hours.

If not, Vet Tech Club would like to have the hours dating back to two weeks approved.

If not, Vet Tech Club would like to have all future hours for the rest of the term approved.

Susan: Is it open to everyone?

Cheryl: Yes, it is open to anybody.

Pablo: If we decide to approve the hours since the beginning of the term, how many hours is that?

Cheryl: She is at like 30.5 hours right now, but we would still make it to the 30 hours without this being approved.

We (Vet Tech Club) would just like to show PCC how many service project hours we have completed this term.

Pablo: What about if we approve two weeks back?

Cheryl: About 15 hours.

*Josh: All clubs fill out an on-site community service form.

Yollixpa: She is here to let you all know how many hours. We want your feedback and have one of you make a suggestion on one of the options that Cheryl made.

Aaron suggests that the 30.5 hours that have been completed at the Audubon Society since the beginning of the term be accepted. Unanimously approved.

4.0 Discussion Items

4.1 SFA Update- Pablo Nieves Valenzuela

3:55pm-4:45pm

OCCSA is not pursuing a bill anymore. This means that the only thing on the table is an agreement between OCCA and OCCSA based on the outline that I showed you all before. This agreement will be non-binding and will instead be a recommendation. In fact the president of Linn Benton CC has made changes according to the outline. I am very proud of what we accomplished.

Also I have sent out the resolution and we can talk about any changes that you all would like to see in the resolution.

Kimber: What is OCCSA?

Pablo: OCCSA –Oregon Community College Student Association is an association of 17 community colleges in

Oregon.

Susan: So any changes we are interested in making (on the resolution) would be made at a later time?

Pablo: Yes next week.

4.2 Title III- Kathy

The title III grant is meant to provide financial education and literacy to students at PCC. National Financial literacy week is in April and we would like to have a financial literacy event. Would you be interested in partnering up to have this take place at Rock Creek, hopefully in April? We would like to know who to contact at Rock Creek to make this happen since Sylvania is doing an event in April as well.

Kathy got in contact with ASPCC Programming and the Career Resource Center.
